ARRL 2026 Field Day

ARRL 2026 Field Day

All day
June 27, 2026 June 28, 2026

It would be great to see you at The Las Vegas Radio Amateur Club Field Day 2026.

We’ll be on the Northwest Corner of Lee Canyon Road and Champion Road on Friday, June 26t  and Saturday, June 27th.

The site is easy to get to and easy to find.

    • Head north out of Vegas on Route 95/I11.

    • Drive 21.5 miles north of the 215 on I11/95 to Lee Canyon Road and turn left.

    • Drive up Lee Canyon Road for 13 miles.

    • At 13 miles (roughly) you’ll see a sign for Sawmill Trailhead on the right side of Lee Canyon Road.

Our place is directly across Lee Canyon Road from Sawmill Trailhead where a dirt road, Champion Road, goes off to the left.  You’ll see an LVRAC sign.

That’s where we’ll be, near the corner of Lee Canyon Road and Champion Road.

The call in frequency for the event is 146.580.

A group of us will be camping at the site so there’s no “start time.”   (As you read this email, some of us are up there right now.)

Our club’s Field Day 2026 site provides a perfect chance for you to get out of the heat.  We’ll have pop-up canopies to provide shade and there’s plenty of parking on a paved lot at the Sawmill Trailhead on the other side of Lee Canyon Road.  There are also bathrooms at the Sawmill Trailhead.

We’ll have radios for you to operate if you wish and club members more than happy to answer any questions you have about projects you’re working or amateur radio topics.

Friday will be full of club events.

    • A transmitter hunt, where you can use your gear (and your skills) to find a nearby hidden low power transmitter which sends out a signal.  This starts at 1:00P.

    • A Parks On The Air Activation,  a portable radio station operates inside the boundaries of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to make contacts with other POTA stations and hunters.

    • FT8, a live demonstration of digital amateur radio, an innovation for reliable, long-distance contacts under poor conditions using low power and small antennas.

    • ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service), a volunteer team of licensed amateur radio operators who provide emergency and public service communications when traditional systems fail.

That’s what we have cooked up Friday, and then, on Saturday, we’ll be taking part in Field Day 2026.  The formal event starts at 11:00 AM and ends Sunday, June 28 at 1:59 PM.

So if the prospect of getting out of the heat seems appealing…

If you’d like to spend some time visiting with your club members…

And check out what’s happening with portable power, radios and antennas, and maybe pick up a few helpful ideas…

Come on up.

If you join us, you’ll make Field Day 2026 better.
